I feel kind of bad that I'm not very interested in the Olympics. I used to love watching them when I was a kid but, I don't know, I've stopped paying much attening over the years. So I must thank you for showing me what I'm missing. I had no idea! I'll begin tuning in tonight... :-)
I love some events (swimming, diving, etc.) but I LOVE pomp and circumstance--the opening ceremonies are full self-importance on such an amazing level that I sit there in awe.
I'm easily done in by cheap sentiment--I will cry on numerous occasions throughout. And I can guarantee that when it starts and the announcer starts in "Four years after Athens, the Olympic flame burns again. This time, in the land of Dragons... Beijing home of Emperors and humble peasants..." or some such nonesense, I WILL have chills. I don't know why, but it gets me every time.
bless you, again.
