“No way. No how. No McCain.”

Hillary Clinton knocked it out of the ballpark last night. Her speech at the DNC Convention in Denver was brilliant and effective. While not a personal endorsement of Barak Obama, she laid out in VERY clear terms why her supporters need to vote for Obama:

“Were you in this campaign just for me? Were you in it for that young Marine and others like him? Were you in it for that mom struggling with cancer while raising her kids? Were you in it for that boy and his mom surviving on the minimum wage? Were you in it for all the people in this country who feel invisible?”

I continue to shake my head in wonder at those ‘spoiled children’ that won’t vote for Obama because he beat Hillary. Or—more aptly—will vote for McCain because he’s not Obama (who beat Hillary). I was eight when I first understood the idiocy of cutting off my nose to spite my face—yet, these people continue on that path. Thank you, Hillary for letting your supporters know that to vote for McCain is a disservice to you and all you’ve worked for:

“I haven’t spent the past 35 years in the trenches advocating for children, campaigning for universal health care, helping parents balance work and family, and fighting for women’s rights at home and around the world … to see another Republican in the White House squander the promise of our country and the hopes of our people.”

Brava!

There were some nice touches, the “No way. No how. No McCain” being at the top of the list. I also thought her “Sisterhood of the travelling pantsuits” to be particularly amusing. She seemed to be in her element last night and I know that if she had been the nominee she would have made a fine president (and still can someday).
However, now it is Barak’s time. We need to get out there and vote for him to put this country on its intended path and to right the many wrongs of the last eight years.

What If…

Someone planned for a different outcome on the Hillary/Barak battle—but I don’t think all this effort should go to waste. Excellent work on the cut & paste work.

A Lot Going On Here

Cav sent me this pic, with the subject line "There's a Lot Going On Here."

My, oh my, he is right. There certainly does seem to be a lot going on here. I'm going to guess the very happy young man is "family" (look at those glasses!) and the rather angry gentleman in the back is Secret Service.

If I were the gay guy in this picture, I must admit I would be reacting the same way. Although I would be turned about 90 degrees to my left...

Who Should I Vote For?

85% John Edwards
85% Barack Obama
84% Hillary Clinton
84% Chris Dodd
79% Mike Gravel
78% Dennis Kucinich
77% Joe Biden
74% Bill Richardson
44% Rudy Giuliani
36% John McCain
26% Mike Huckabee
25% Mitt Romney
25% Tom Tancredo
16% Ron Paul
15% Fred Thompson

I took an online quiz that determines which candidate best suits my beliefs... Well, Edwards is out... I voted for Hillary, but as it seems to be going, Barak may not be such a bad choice for me. See who you should vote for...

Thanks to the adorable Brad from Southern Expressions for this.
