Star Wars...

...as told by someone who's never seen it. Effing hysterical.

YouTube-atopia

Time killer! Four videos… a little something for everyone. However, the first and last are the best.

If You Like It, Then You Shoulda Put a Ring It

Some people like Beyonce, some people love Beyonce… and then there’s Shane Mercado:

I love the song and I love how Shane just puts it all out there. He was on Bonnie Hunt yesterday and he was very sweet—plus, girlfriend has got some moves. I’d mock him, but if I could dance like that, I would.

Did I mention that I friggin' LOVE this song? No? Well, I friggin' LOVE this song!

Cute Cat Break

Funny Because it’s True

Un-Freakin’-Believable!

Now, this guy has got some pipes! (and he's cute--nice combo.)
UPDATE: A killjoy friend just let me know that this isn't Corey singing the song, it's a group called Moosebutter, and Corey is just lip-syncing. Moosebutter says it's with their blessing, but it's not nearly as cool as I thought it was.

What Have I Started?

Today, I made the critical error of opening and starting to assemble my Millenium Falcon Star Wars Lego set. While, for most, this is fun--for me, it's an exercise in futility.

After four hours of work, here's what I've put together so far:*

Here are the over 5000 pieces of the set out on my dining room table (and an additional card table):

Note the Limoncello elegantly bagged on the buffet in the back

Actually, the reason it has taken me so long to get anything done is that I had to sort out all 5000 pieces. Here they are all laid out and waiting for me to assemble:

But not tonight... I'm going to bed. I'll keep you kids updated.

BTW: Yes, I'm a geek. Yes, I'm a child playing with a very expensive toy. But I'm owing it. Besides, it's a freakin' Millenium Falcon! And it's LEGO!!! It's AWESOME!

UPDATE: Well, I'm almost finished... (I stopped counting how long it took after 20 hours) but the set is missing six critical pieces!  I've put an order in to their Missing Parts Dept., but until I get the pieces the Millennium Falcon will remain unfinished... [sniff]

*For the record, that's Luke, Han, Obi-Wan, Lea, and Chewbacca (seated).

Yoda is Dead

Imagine my surprise today when I was looking at Google News and noticed the headline: UN: One peacekeeper killed and 19 wounded in Darfur attack. Next to it is a picture of Yoda! It's obvious that Yoda would work with the UN--the Jedis were a peacekeeping force--but I didn't even know he was in Darfur... you'd think with the Jedis there, things would be going better. And why the Hell aren't they in Afghanistan or Iraq? Lazy Jedis...

I just hope that Obi-Wan Kenobi and his young padawan are out of harm's way...

Think Twice Before Teasing a Star Wars Geek

Luke... I am your Postmaster!

File this under geeky-cool: we get to vote for the new Star Wars stamp being offered by the US Postal Service.

Use the Force—or in this case, the internet—and vote for your favorite stamp. I’m torn between Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader stamps… oh, the constant struggle of good vs. evil.

I finally figured out why there is no Ewan McGregor (young Obi Wan) stamp: we’d all be licking the front of the stamp…
