My friend Michele missed out on much of the Beijing Olympics because she lives in Norway and it was not covered as obsessively as it is in the U.S. (NBC paid $500 million for the rights, you'd better believe they were going to show it non-stop). I love the Olympics. The pomp. The circumstance. The pagentry.
Here are some amazing images from the games that will stick with me. I grabbed most of them from This is Life blog. It's great and I suggest you check it out as it's always worth a visit.

Wow, these are all beautiful! What a spectacle.
I see you did manage to squeeze in a pic of sexy wrestlers!
Of course! I couldn't find any great shots of the water polo players--seriously, what's up with that?
Chris, those pictures are spectacular. Mega-spectacular. Now I'm even more sad that I missed so much of what looks like one of the best opening and closing ceremonies ever. (Is this where I make a joke like, "Brings a whole new meaning to 'Made In China?'" Or is that just not even funny?)
Thank you for thinking of me. And of the wrestlers. Because I think of them, too. ;-)
