The Ship That Made The Kessel Run In Less Than Twelve Parsecs

The Millennium Falcon is complete! I stopped counting after 20 hours, but it didn't take as long as I'd expected.

Lego decided to mess with me by leaving out 14 pages of the instruction manual and a total of nince pieces. I had to go to the Lego store today and get them (they were going to charge me $8! One small tantrum later and they were free).

A special thanks to Adam who bought this for my birthday. It was a very generous gift and I'm grateful to have received it.

Below are a few selected pics. If you're a glutton for punishment, you can find more on my flickr page.

That is so fuckin' cool -- it's really awesome that the Lego Falcon is so much closer to scale the original Star Wars toy Falcon.

Is the construction sturdy enough that you can pretend to fly it around making whooshing noises, or does it have to stay on the table?

It's heavy... but that hasn't stopped me from attempting to make the Kessel Run--however, I'm not nearly as fast.

er... I mean, uh, it's a model and I just look at it.

When I tear it apart there will be a great battle and while the Millennium Falcon will be victorious, she will be mortally wounded (and then neatly packed up to be rebuilt another day!)

I have no idea what you guys are talking about but the ship looks very, very cool.

Yes, there would still need to be exhaust in space. Nice work, kiddo.

Very very awesome!

Now make one for me.

Cav, I'd be delighted to make one for you... first, go out and buy one for the bargain basement price of $500 (plus tax and shipping) and I will build it. I'm not sure how can get it to you as Lego did not include a working hyperdrive (that was extra).
